Dachigam National Park, located 22 km from Srinagar, is a breathtaking wildlife sanctuary known for its critically endangered Hangul (Kashmiri Stag), snow leopards, and stunning landscapes. Spanning over 141 sq. km, the park is divided into Lower Dachigam and Upper Dachigam, with varied terrain, dense forests, alpine meadows, and high-altitude peaks. Unlike other national parks, Dachigam has restricted access, and Jeep Safaris are rarely permitted. Most exploration is done on foot through guided treks, but special permission is required for vehicle access. 🛑 Note: Regular Jeep Safaris are not allowed inside Dachigam. ✅ Alternative: Limited vehicle access (with special permission) to Lower Dachigam, but Upper Dachigam can only be explored on foot. Best Jeep Routes (With Permission): 🚗 Srinagar – Dachigam National Park Entrance (Harwan) 🚗 Lower Dachigam – Marsar Lake (Partial Jeep, Then Trekking Required) 🚗 Dachigam Buffer Zone Exploration (Guided Tour)
